WELCOME TO MAYHEM!

The below items are resources for new players who are ready for their first rugby match. If you are just looking to check out a practice before ​becoming a player, you do not need to complete everything below.

If you need access to anything below or have any questions/concerns, please reach out to a member of the board, coach, or captain.

1. COMPLETE RUGBY DOCUMENTS:

  • Read and sign the player contract.
  • Become CIPPed via Rugby XPlorer.

  • Follow us on Facebook and Instagram. 
  • Join the Zone (Private Facebook group).
  • Join the team Discord (reach out to a board member for access).

4. GET YOUR KIT READY:

A rugby kit is your uniform for playing rugby - cleats, shorts, mouthguard, socks.

If you have any questions/concerns about purchasing any items for your kit, contact a coach, captain, or board member prior to purchasing any of these items.

You will need the following for contact practices: cleats, shorts, and a mouthguard. You will not need the socks until you play your 1st match.

Cleats:

  • You can use rugby,  soccer, or football cleats. 
  • Cleats must be all the same material, and the toe cleat must be molded.
  • Studs/cleats must comply with World Rugby Regulation 12.
  • Maximum stud length is 21mm (about 0.83 inches).
  • Studs must not have sharp edges, burrs, or damage.
  • Both molded plastic/rubber studs and metal screw in studs are permitted.

Shorts:

  • Rugby shorts are specifically designed to withstand all the action; regular athletic shorts will not work.
  • Mayhem wears black rugby shorts as part of our uniform.
  • These can be any brand with no external pockets.
  • Popular brands are Canterbury and Gilbert.

Mouth Guard:

  • Mouth guards are essential for your safety and you cannot participate in a contact practice or match without wearing one.
  • You can use any brand of mouth guard as long as it is a sports mouthguard.
  • Do NOT use a sleeping mouth guard, these serve a different purpose and will not protect you.

Mouth guards MUST be fit to your mouth, they are not ready to go right out of the package. Follow the instructions on the package of your mouth guard for how to fit them. Click on this link for an example of how to fit a mouth guard.

Socks:

  • Socks should be knee high and navy blue in color.
  • They can be any brand.
